Roulette Odds Payout
How to Quickly Calculate Roulette Odds and Payouts for Any Bet. The three most popular types of online roulette are American, European and French. While all three of these types of the game have their own differences, the core payout structure of all three of them happens to be the same. A 2 number bet or split bet allows you to bet on two adjacent numbers, offering you some pretty attractive odds of 17:1 — the second biggest payout available at a roulette table. You can place a split bet across two numbers vertically or horizontally (if that makes any sense).
The payout will be 6 to 1 with a winning percentage chance of 13.16%. Line – With a line bet, you’re betting on two rows of neighboring numbers (a total of six digits) i.e., 7, 8, 9, and 10, 11, and 12. The payout will be 5 to 1 with a 15.79% chance in American roulette and a. 35 to 1 Payout in Roulette When you are lucky enough to win a straight-up bet, the payout is only 35-1. Putting this into dollar terms, a winning $1 bet on the number 19 will result in a $35 profit when the true odds dictate that you should receive $37 instead.
Roulette is a simple and fun game to play, which is why it’s so popular. As with any game, it is important to understand the types of bets, the odds and the payouts for wins. These are listed on this page.
The table layout
There are two types of table layouts: the European single zero, and the American 00. As far as the table is concerned, the only difference is the American version has an additional pocket, which is of course 00.
The additional pocket does not affect the payouts, but it does affect the odds of winning. For example, if you bet on a single number, the European single zero wheel gives you odds of one in 37 of winning. But the 00 wheel gives you odds of one in 38. However, the payouts remain the same. The effect of this is the casino has a higher advantage, otherwise known as the house edge, on the American 00 wheel.
Types of bets, the odds and the payouts
The types of bets are very simple. Basically wherever you place a chip is where you bet. A detailed explanation is below:
- Straight bet: a bet on an individual number. This bet type may have the worst odds, but it has the highest payout.
- Split bet: this type of bet covers two numbers. It is placed on the line between the two numbers.
- Street bet: this bet covers three numbers such as one, two, and three.
- Square bet: also known as a four number bet. Place the chip at the cross-section of four numbers, such as one, two, four, five.
- Five number bet: this is only available on the American 00 wheel. It is 0, 00, one, two, and three.
- Red or black: a red or black number
- Odds or evens: an odd or even number.
- Highs and lows: numbers 1 to 18 are lows, and 19 to 36 are highs. You lose if the ball lands on zero or 00.
- Dozens: there are three dozens being 1 to 12, 13 to 24, and 25 to 36. You lose if the ball lands on zero or 00.
- Columns: this type of bet is at the end of the table, and has the same odds as the dozens.

What is the most profitable bet?
It’s neither the odds or the payouts alone that gives the Casino an advantage. The casino gets their advantage by offering unfair payouts for the odds of the player winning. Every type of bet comes with unfair payouts for the odds, and this discrepancy is called the house edge. Therefore the bets with the lowest house edge are most profitable for the player. Or more specifically, they are less profitable for the casino, and the player has a higher chance of ending with a profit.
The only way to beat any casino game in the long-term is to overcome the unfair payouts. This is only possible by increasing your odds of winning. It is the same case in any casino game. Specifically with roulette, the player must focus attention on the physical roulette wheel and any consistent behavior that makes spins more predictable. See a professional roulette strategy website, which explains some of the strategies used by professional roulette players. In each case, they use physics to predict the winning number and increase their odds of winning.
Betting systems that lose
The most common betting system is called the Martingale. This is where the player doubles their bet after losing, in the hopes that they will recover losses. But in fact, all the player does is change the amount they risk on following spins. For example, if a player bets $10 on red and loses, then bet may be $20. There is a chance that they win the lost $10. But if they lose, they will have lost a total of $30. So from this perspective, roulette is a perfectly balanced game in the casino’s favour. And the variation of bet size will not at all give an edge to the player.
